MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two Chattaroy men have been charged following an investigation into the theft of construction equipment from a local business, according to the West Virginia State Police.
State Police said Sgt. Z.S. Holden responded to the Chattaroy area of Mingo County on June 10 after receiving a complaint of a breaking and entering at Poly Coating Solutions.
Following what investigators described as an in-depth investigation, members of the West Virginia State Police Williamson Detachment recovered all of the stolen construction equipment and returned it. The recovered items included a manhole winch, generator and air compressor with a combined value of approximately $4,500.
James E. Gannon, 39, of Chattaroy, was arrested and charged with grand larceny, transferring stolen property and entering without breaking. He is being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail.
Shawn B. Hicks, 48, of Chattaroy, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. State Police said he was released on bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
