PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two men found covered in fecal matter and lacerations after a violent altercation took place. The suspect told police and EMS he was going to kill them and their families.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at approximately 3:58 AM, multiple Putnam County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 256 Valley Brooke Circle in Nitro, West Virginia. The initial call indicated a physical altercation between two males at the residence.
Upon arrival, Deputy B.M. Hodges and Deputy Fletcher spoke with the victim, who had managed to escape the house. He sustained multiple lacerations to his face, ear, and legs and was covered in fecal matter. He informed officers that he had been involved in a fight with the suspect, Cole Lee Ison.
Deputies entered the residence, locating Ison in a back bedroom, where he was screaming. After repeatedly refusing commands to exit, Ison eventually came out into the hallway but resisted arrest. Officers successfully detained him, though Ison refused to cooperate and required assistance getting off the floor due to also being covered in fecal matter.
During the arrest, Putnam County Dispatch notified deputies that Ison had an active warrant from Mason County for failure to appear on charges related to vehicle theft. While EMS arrived to assess his injuries, Ison verbally assaulted both the EMS workers and deputies, threatening to spit on them and making violent threats, including stating, “I’m going to spit on both of you and give you (explicit) aids you (explicit) faggots” and “I’m going to kill you and your family and then go back and kill all of them at that house.”
Ison’s sister-in-law confirmed that she had overheard Ison threatening to kill the victim and her children during the altercation.
Cole Lee Ison was charged with multiple offenses, including assault, battery, making terroristic threats, assaulting an EMS worker, assaulting a police officer, obstructing justice, domestic assault, and failure to fingerprint. He is currently being held at Western Regional Jail.
Deputy B.M. Hodges is the arresting officer in the case.
