WINFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office saw the swearing in of two officers to the rank of Deputy Sheriff on a probationary basis on Tuesday.
Sheriff Eggleton of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office extended a warm welcome to Joshua McClure and Brayden Morris on Tuesday as they accepted new roles as Putnam County Deputy Sheriffs.
The appointments, enacted on a probationary basis, will entail the beginning of training for the new members in August at the Fairmont University Police Academy. The academy itself is a relatively new addition, having been introduced just this year.
“Sheriff Eggleton and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the support from our citizens and our County Commission as we continue to move forward with creating a safe community,” read a statement from the department.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office also recognized K-9 Deputy Flint on Tuesday. The department acknowledging the K-9 Deputy’s official End of Watch, which occurred a full decade prior on July 25, 2013, and was acknowledged in a commemoratory statement.
