MOUNDSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A disturbing incident early Friday morning has led to an ongoing investigation and potential charges against three individuals after a woman reported being threatened with brass knuckles and guns inside a Moundsville home.
On July 11, 2025, Moundsville Police responded to a call from a female victim. She told officers she had been threatened with bodily harm by Clarissa Mosser, Maggie Denham, and Chaz Suarez—individuals she had been staying with since July 9, along with her boyfriend, Austin Moss.
The victim claimed the altercation stemmed from past tension with Mosser over dating the same man. She said that around 1:30–2:00 a.m., she was abruptly awakened when Denham ripped the covers off her and ordered her into the living room. There, the victim was allegedly threatened with a weapon—red brass knuckles fitted with a knife—and told not to lie or she would “get her frontal knocked in.”
The victim further alleged that Denham handed Mosser a pink camouflage handgun and stated, “There’s three rounds in it—that should be enough to do the job.” At one point, the victim said Suarez also brandished a loaded black handgun until Mosser told him to stop waving it around.
According to the report, the confrontation ended only after the victim told the group she was pregnant. She was then told she could not leave the house until she proved it, and warned that calling the police would get her shot. Eventually, the trio left the residence.
Police later located Mosser and Denham at Denham’s residence on Poplar Avenue. In plain view, officers spotted the red brass knuckles the victim described. After obtaining a search warrant, officers recovered the pink camouflage Ruger 9mm handgun loaded with five rounds.
Both women were brought in for questioning. Mosser initially denied knowledge of the incident, later admitting to a verbal altercation but denying the use of weapons. Denham admitted to confronting the victim and said she was yelling within inches of her face but denied any physical contact. She claimed the brass knuckles were for protection and stayed in her back pocket. Denham also confirmed she had the gun but said it remained tucked in her waistband.
The case remains under investigation, and charges are pending as police continue reviewing evidence and statements.
