BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – United Way of Southern West Virginia is excited to acknowledge National 211 Day, by hosting an Open House at the United Way office, 110 Croft Street, Beckley, WV. 211 Day, observed on February 11th, raises awareness for the hotline, a free confidential service, connecting people to essential non-emergency health and human services. United Way’s Open House will be held from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11th.
The purpose of the National 211 Day is to highlight the 211 service, which helps individuals navigate a complex, often confusing maze of social services to find local community resources.
Trena Dacal, Executive Director of UWSWV says, “We are always open to having the community stop into our office to provide information on the most vital services available in southern West Virginia or to ask questions about our fundraising efforts and direct services. We’re excited to open our doors on 211 Day to host our friends and neighbors and introduce them to our staff.” “We encourage those who want to support our work to make a $21 (or greater) donation in honor of the 2-1-1 Information and Referral Hotline. We are so proud to provide a vital local program and connect the residents of southern West Virginia with the resources they need.”
