POCA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – United West Virginia (UWV) will participate in the national “ICE Out of Everywhere” day of action on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, 3 pm, joining communities across the country to advocate for accountability and justice in response to recent federal immigration enforcement actions.
Protesters will gather on Route 62 in front of the Department of Homeland Security office in Rock Branch Industrial Park on Jacobson Drive to peacefully demand oversight of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) activities and to raise awareness of the human impact of federal enforcement policies.
The nonprofit group, formed in 2025 in response to Trump administration policies, has engaged in weekly protests in front of the WV State Capitol on Saturdays from 12-2 pm for almost a year and also hosted larger rallies there, such as the No Kings rallies. They seek to become a hub for organizers around the state and encourage similar efforts in their communities for this and future actions.
UWV encourages all participants to remain peaceful, prioritize safety, and respect public spaces. The protest is part of a broader effort to engage and educate the public in preserving American democracy and ideals including welcoming and caring for immigrants, since we are a nation of immigrants.
