MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A driver was injured Thursday morning after crashing into the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place, according to the Morgantown Police Department (MPD).
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when a Nissan Frontier struck the northeast corner of the building and landed on its side.
Police confirmed the driver was conscious but injured.
Morgantown Fire Department personnel removed the driver from the vehicle, and Monongalia County EMS transported them to the hospital.
No other occupants were in the vehicle.
Code enforcement officials inspected the building and determined it was structurally safe.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
