LAVISTA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that an EF2 tornado indeed touched down in the Hico area Tuesday.
According to the NWS, preliminary findings from an NWS Damage Survey in the Hico area of Fayette County indicate an EF2 tornado with peak winds of up to 130 mph occurred on Tuesday.
According to available records, this is the first-ever tornado to touch down in the Hico area and the fourth-ever tornado in Fayette County.
More information will be available in a Public Information Statement issued later today by the NWS.
