RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Rainelle Fire Department has issued a voluntary evacuation order for residents living along Sewell Creek in Charmco, McRoss, and Rainelle due to rising water levels.
Residents east of the Charmco House of Prayer are advised to go to the Rupert Community Building, while those west of the church should head to the Rainelle Fire Department.
Officials emphasize that this evacuation is precautionary and not mandatory.
However, residents who believe their homes could be threatened by rising water are encouraged to leave now rather than risk waiting too long.
“This is done out of an abundance of caution,” the Rainelle VFD stated. “We are not trying to create panic, but we don’t want you to wait too long in case water levels rise more.”
