The fourth statewide qualifier for the 91st West Virginia Open took place Monday on the Cobb Course at Glade Springs Resort.
When the final scorecard was signed, 12 players secured a spot in the tournament which will be played at Edgewood Country Club in Sissonville, July 31 – Aug. 2.
Former Shady Spring standout and current Marshall University golfer Tanner Vest tied Jackson Woodburn from Scott Depot for low medalist honors with a 3-under par round of 69.
Isaiah Zaccheo from Beckley was the only other player under par with a 71, while Case Tolliver from Bluefield shot even-par for his qualifying round.
Current Davis & Elkins golf coach and former Wyoming East standout Patrick Smith, along with Shady Spring rising junior Tyler Beard tied for fifth-place with a 73.
Woodrow Wilson all-state golfer and Concord University signee Jonah Willson was one of four players to qualify with a round of 74.
