SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Summers County is grappling with widespread road closures and power outages due to severe weather conditions.
Emergency officials report numerous downed trees and utility lines obstructing roadways across the area.
Key road closures include:
- Route 20 between Lilly Bridge and Pipestem
- Leatherwood and Surveyors Branch
- Route 3 near the hospital, which will close soon for power line repairs
Main highways are slushy, snow-covered, and slick, while secondary roads are largely impassable for most vehicles.
As of now, Mon Power reports 3,879 customers without electricity, while AEP lists 622 outages in the county.
Crews are working to restore power and clear roadways, but no estimated restoration times are available.
