CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Best Virginia, the West Virginia alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) regional at the Charleston Coliseum from July 18-22, today announced the roster addition of former Mountaineer Kedrian Johnson.
Johnson joins Best Virginia’s roster as the first player commitment. Additional roster announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
Johnson spent three years at West Virginia (2020–23), appearing in 91 games and helping lead the Mountaineers to two NCAA Tournament appearances. After playing a limited role in his first season, Johnson appeared as a starter in 63 of his final 65 games as a Mountaineer. During the 2022-23 season, Johnson averaged 11.7 points and led the team with 3.1 assists per game.
Johnson has spent the first two seasons of his professional career with the Bristol Flyers of Super League Basketball in England. Johnson is currently averaging 17.9 points per game in the 2024-25 season.
The winner of the West Virginia Regional will advance to TBT’s quarterfinals on July 29. The semifinals will be held on July 31, and TBT’s $1 million championship will be played on Aug. 3.

For the first time, TBT will give each host team the opportunity to have home court advantage for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the $1 million championship game. Should two regional hosts face off, the tie breaker will be determined by which host sells 4,000 tickets the fastest.
Tickets will go on sale May 6. To be the first to secure tickets for the event, fans can sign up for ticket and team updates at https://tbthoops.com/tickets/updates/.
