CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A new bill, HB 2639, aims to ban the use of electronic calculators for public school students in grades pre-K through six across West Virginia.
If passed, the law would prohibit schools from allowing students in these grades to use any type of electronic calculator in the classroom. Supporters argue the measure is intended to strengthen foundational math skills.
The bill is currently being considered by the legislature.
