CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A proposed bill, HB 2923, would require the West Virginia Division of Highways to install rumble strips on all double-yellow lined highways whenever road upgrades are performed.
Under the bill, starting July 1, 2025, the Commissioner of Highways must ensure that rumble strips are added to these roads as part of the upgrading process. Rumble strips are designed to alert drivers who drift out of their lane, improving road safety and reducing head-on collisions.
The bill is currently under consideration in the West Virginia Legislature.
