CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles is clarifying misinformation after a social media post caused confusion among motorists earlier this week.
On Tuesday, a satirical post circulating on Facebook claimed that all licensed drivers in West Virginia would be required to retake their driver’s tests in 2026.

State officials said the post is false.
“The DMV is NOT requiring motorists to retake their tests,” the agency stated in response.
Residents can verify information through official DMV announcements and its website.
