FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fire Marshals from the West Virginia Office of the State Fire Marshal were on site during Bridge Day 2025 to help ensure public safety at one of the state’s largest and most well-known events.
Held on the New River Gorge Bridge, Bridge Day is recognized as West Virginia’s largest single-day festival, drawing tens of thousands of visitors from across the country and around the world.
Given the scale of the event, the Office of the State Fire Marshal said public safety remained its top priority.
Fire Marshals were present to make sure vendors, operations, and activities complied with state laws related to fire and life safety.
Their presence helped protect the public, participants, and first responders by verifying that all fire and life safety measures were properly implemented and maintained.
In addition to monitoring compliance, Fire Marshals assisted local fire departments, emergency medical services, and law enforcement agencies as needed throughout the day.
“Bridge Day is a celebration of West Virginia’s spirit of adventure, and our role is to make sure that celebration happens safely,” said officials with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
“We appreciate the cooperation of event organizers, local emergency services, and all participating agencies who work together to protect the public.”
Officials said the Office of the State Fire Marshal remains committed to ensuring that events across the state meet acceptable levels of fire and life safety, helping everyone enjoy West Virginia’s premier attractions with confidence and peace of mind.
