CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia House of Delegates convened for Day 10 of the Legislative Session, advancing multiple bills for further consideration.
House Bill 2053, which adds the U.S. Space Force to the list of recognized armed forces, advanced to its third reading without amendment.
Additionally, three bills were introduced on first reading:
- HB 2042 – Allows a guardian ad litem to request a court-appointed special advocate for children in neglect and abuse cases.
- HB 2066 – Establishes a new felony for the damage, destruction, or theft of first responder equipment.
- HB 2363 – Clarifies that laws regarding the filming of sexually explicit conduct involving minors do not apply to law enforcement, attorneys, judges, jurors, or court personnel performing official duties.
