WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Law enforcement agencies across West Virginia are stepping up impaired driving enforcement Saturday as part of a statewide effort with Mothers Against Drunk Driving West Virginia.
The effort, known as “Saturation Saturday,” is being held Aug. 29 as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.
Agencies participating across the state are expected to conduct high-visibility saturation patrols and enhanced DUI enforcement aimed at identifying and removing impaired drivers from West Virginia roads.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is among the agencies participating in the effort, with deputies conducting increased patrols throughout the day and evening Saturday.
The sheriff’s office said the objective of the campaign is to keep impaired drivers off the roads and ensure people make it home safely over the weekend.
Saturation Saturday is organized in partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving and brings together law enforcement agencies across the country for increased impaired driving enforcement.
