SPENCER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Roane County man is facing multiple charges after West Virginia State Police say he fired several shots at two people who mistakenly drove down his driveway while making a DoorDash delivery.
According to West Virginia State Police, Senior Trooper D.A. Goodnight responded to a shots-fired call on Arnoldsburg Road in Spencer on Monday, Sept. 28.
Upon arrival, Goodnight spoke with Michelle Lowe, 48, and William Lowe, 57, both of Spencer.
The two told police they were delivering a DoorDash order when their GPS directed them the wrong way down a long driveway. They said they were sitting in their vehicle attempting to find the correct directions when a man, later identified as 65-year-old Larry Epling of Spencer, allegedly fired multiple shots at them.
Police said one of the shots struck their vehicle.
Epling was arrested at approximately 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2. He was charged with six counts of wanton endangerment, two counts of assault and two counts of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Epling was arraigned in Roane County Magistrate Court, where his bond was set at $25,000 surety.
According to West Virginia State Police, Epling posted bond and was released.
