ROCK CAVE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Rock Cave man lost his life on January 13, 2025, following an accidental fall into a creek on his property, according to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office.
Roger Haymond, 44, and his wife had gone to a stream on their property at 732 McDowell Lane to fill water jugs when the incident occurred.
While attempting to fill a jug, Haymond fell into the water.
After the fall, Haymond’s wife returned to their house and called 911.
Emergency responders from the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and local fire departments arrived on the scene and provided medical care.
Despite their efforts, Haymond succumbed to his injuries.
