BELPRE, OH (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia resident has won $140,001 on Ohio’s Rolling Cash 5 drawing.
Melvin Stubbs III of West Virginia is celebrating after winning the $140,001 Rolling Cash 5 prize for the Monday, July 8, 2024, draw.
“It’s a blessing to win,” Stubbs said, expressing his gratitude. “I’ve been sick, so I had cancer. I think it’s a blessing to win.”
On the day of the drawing, Stubbs was spending time with his son when he decided to purchase a ticket.
“I just went over the bridge to play my numbers like normal. Then when I checked at night, I seen I won,” he recounted.
Stubbs described his elation upon discovering his $140,000 prize. “I was pretty happy about it. I couldn’t sleep that night,” he said.
Stubbs plans to use his winnings to support his family.
“I’m gonna try to save it up and help my wife because I hadn’t been able to work a few years,” he explained.
After mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent, Stubbs will take home $100,800.
The winning ticket was sold at Peoples News & Book Mart #4, located at 412 Washington Blvd in Belpre.
The winning numbers were 4-5-29-30-31. Rolling Cash 5 is a daily draw game in Ohio with drawings held seven days a week at 7:05 pm.
