CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Office of Energy (WVOE) announced that another round of funding is available to eligible local government entities and nonprofits through its Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program.
In total, the WVOE plans to offer 35 sub-grants up to $37,000 to local governments and 14 sub-grants up to $25,000 to rural community-serving nonprofits through federal support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of State and Community Energy Programs. Since the launch of this program in August of last year, 57 projects have already been chosen to participate in the program.
“These subgrants are a key tool for local organizations to reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and invest in long-term sustainability for their communities,” says Jackson Igo, Energy Programs Coordinator for the Office of Energy. “We strongly encourage eligible entities to apply for this round of funding, which we anticipate to be the last.”
The deadline to apply for this round of funding is August 15, 2025. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant page of the WVOE’s website to review eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
