“I’m introducing a Senate Resolution honoring the life & work of Charlie Kirk, & condemning his tragic political assassination,” Rose stated in a social media post.
“Charlie was a nationally recognized conservative activist, author, & media personality—founder of Turning Point USA. He dedicated his life to free speech, constitutional principles, civic engagement, & inspiring millions of young Americans in public life.”
A resolution is a legislative proposal that doesn’t become a law but expresses the will of the Legislature or one of its houses.
The 2026 legislative session begins on January 12.
In addition to Rose’s announcement, a delegate has announced plans to introduce legislation to designate Kirk’s birthday, October 14, as an annual Day of Remembrance.
