HURRICANE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Parks Foundation is announcing the commencement of the Mountains are Always Free Photo Contest. This contest, which will run through the end of February is intended to showcase the best of winter in West Virginia State Parks, Forests, and Rail Trails.
“West Virginia state park areas are absolutely beautiful in the wintertime”, said Foundation Executive Director Brad Reed. “Our state is known as a four-season recreational paradise, and we would love to see those gorgeous landscapes and snowy weather family fun captured on film.”
The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers, and the winners will receive prizes from West Virgina State Parks. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: 1) Winterscape: photos of beautiful winter scenery/nature on WV State Park areas, 2) Fancy Facilities: winter photos of special WV State Park area buildings, facilities or features, 3) Outdoor Recreation: winter photos of your favorite WV State Park area outdoor recreation activities (hiking, fishing, etc.)
