GLASGOW, WV (LOOTPRESS) – U.S. 60 reopened Wednesday night in the Glasgow area of Kanawha County after being closed for nearly four hours following a deadly two-vehicle crash, according to Metro 911.
The collision was reported just before 6:30 p.m. near London Recycling along U.S. 60, which is also known as East Dupont Avenue in that area. Authorities said a sedan and a truck were involved in the crash.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a woman driving the sedan died at the scene. A child who was also in the car was injured and received medical attention. Deputies said no one in the truck was injured.
U.S. 60 was shut down for several hours while investigators worked at the scene. The roadway reopened later Wednesday night after the investigation and cleanup were completed.
No additional details about the cause of the crash or the identities of those involved were immediately released.
