HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — On April 27, 2026, members of the West Virginia State Police Huntington Detachment responded to River Park Hospital regarding an escaped individual.
Troopers and officers with the Huntington Police Department were advised that the suspect, James Ryan Yost, 50, of Huntington, WV, had fled from the facility and is considered extremely dangerous. Law enforcement officers conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the individual.
Hospital staff provided troopers with a court order from the Morgan County Circuit Court indicating that Yost had been committed to the custody of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources by reason of insanity, with the commitment in effect until February 2098.
The suspect was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as an escapee on this date by the West Virginia State Police Huntington Detachment.
