RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police will conduct a seatbelt checkpoint next week in Raleigh County aimed at promoting roadway safety and educating drivers about seatbelt laws.
According to officials, the checkpoint is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026, along West Virginia Route 3 and West Virginia Route 99 near Glen Daniels.
State Police said the operation will focus on educating motorists about the dangers and legal consequences of operating a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers are also encouraging the public to properly utilize child safety seats and ensure all passengers are securely restrained while traveling.
The checkpoint is part of ongoing traffic safety efforts conducted throughout the state to reduce injuries and fatalities caused by unrestrained drivers and passengers.
