BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, December 4, 2025, along U.S. Route 19, about 0.1 mile south of the intersection with WV Route 41 (Johnstown Road) in the Beckley area of Raleigh County.
The checkpoint will be in operation from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
Authorities say the purpose is to deter impaired driving and to educate drivers about the dangers and consequences of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The public is encouraged to help prevent drunk driving by reporting suspected intoxicated or drug-impaired drivers to local West Virginia State Police detachments, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or other law enforcement agencies.
