KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia Turnpike worker was struck and killed early Monday morning, April 14, while performing roadwork on Interstate 77 near mile marker 92.5.
According to officials, the worker was part of a crew patching asphalt in the center section of the southbound lanes. The right lane had been closed for the work.

The driver of the tractor-trailer stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
West Virginia State Police are leading the investigation and are reviewing footage from a camera mounted on the truck.
Further details about the victim have not yet been released.
