WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Wheeling Police Department is investigating the unattended death of a woman on Wheeling Island.
Police and fire crews responded to a medical emergency on the 400 block of South Front Street at 12:13 a.m. on Friday, March 21, where they found 56-year-old Kathleen J. Herring unresponsive in her residence.
Upon entering, officers determined she was deceased.
Herring’s body has been taken to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, which was conducted on Monday.
Preliminary results from the autopsy are not yet available.
Further information will be released as investigations by Wheeling police detectives and the medical examiner’s office continue.
