WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Amtrak is set to undertake significant renovations at the White Sulphur Springs station to bring it into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
According to Amtrak, the project, currently in the design phase, will include a series of upgrades aimed at improving accessibility for all passengers.
The planned modifications include the creation of an accessible route from the public right of way to the platform, station, and parking area.
ADA-compliant parking spaces will be added, complete with painted striping, signage, and bollards.
The station will also feature new platform city identifier signs and ADA-required signage for parking.
In addition to these improvements, a brand-new platform will be constructed, along with associated ramps, stairs, railings, and signage to ensure easy and safe access for everyone.
Construction is slated to begin in January 2025, with completion expected in 2026.
