BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Sue Ann White, 57, of Madison, who appeared in the documentary The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, has been charged after deputies say she repeatedly made false 911 reports and resisted being taken into custody.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Boone County Magistrate Court, White is charged with falsely reporting an emergency incident and obstructing an officer. She is currently being held at Southwestern Regional Jail on a $1,000 cash-only bond.
The complaint states that at approximately 3:33 p.m. on July 19, a Boone County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence on Iron Lane in Danville after White allegedly called 911 claiming a woman identified as “Kay” had stolen her medication and clothing.
Later that evening, at about 6:47 p.m., the deputy made contact with White at the Danville Animal Clinic on Bentley Road. White again told the deputy that Kay had stolen her clothing and medication.
According to the complaint, White consented to a search of her bags. Deputies reported finding gabapentin, a Schedule V controlled substance, inside her purse. When asked if it was the medication she had reported stolen, White allegedly replied that it was. The complaint further states White claimed the medication had not been inside her purse before the search.
Investigators allege White called the Boone County E-911 Center approximately five times that day claiming people had taken her medication and clothing.
The complaint also alleges White had made numerous 911 calls throughout July reporting that her medication had been stolen and that she had been assaulted.
Additionally, deputies wrote that White called 911 on July 15 claiming her son had shot himself in the face. However, dispatchers advised they had received no reports of a self-inflicted gunshot wound involving her son.
The complaint also notes that individuals White previously accused of assaulting her were in custody at Southwestern Regional Jail at the time.
Deputies further allege that as White was being placed in handcuffs, she pulled her arm away in an apparent attempt to get away before she was taken into custody without further incident.
The charges against White remain allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
