PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A woman accused of throwing a rock at an occupied vehicle and slashing a tire outside a Princeton Taco Bell told a state trooper she was trying to get a bird out, according to a police report.
The incident happened around 6:56 p.m. Thursday, October 1, at the Taco Bell on Lyle Way.
The vehicle’s owner told police a woman approached his vehicle, threw a rock at the passenger-side window and repeatedly pulled on the passenger-door handle. When she could not get inside, she allegedly slashed the rear passenger-side tire, causing it to go flat.
A responding trooper located Heather Kennedy on Oakvale Road near Belinda’s Flowers after receiving a description of the suspect. According to the report, Kennedy was sitting at the business entrance with a pocketknife on the ground within reach. The trooper secured the knife.
When asked whether she had been at Taco Bell, Kennedy allegedly replied, “I popped that guy’s tire so I could get a bird out.”
The vehicle’s owner identified Kennedy from a photograph the trooper took. Police also reported finding a broken rock beside the vehicle.
According to the report, Taco Bell security footage showed Kennedy throwing the rock, pulling on the door handle and slashing the tire. The trooper obtained the footage and placed the recovered knife into evidence.
The trooper requested warrants for attempt to commit malicious assault, misdemeanor destruction of property, and simple assault.
