OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is facing pending charges after deputies reportedly found her walking nude through traffic following a vehicle accident in Fayette County on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen, deputies responded to an accident on U.S. Route 19 in the Oak Hill area, where they observed a woman walking nude through traffic.
Investigators determined that a 2023 Kia Forte involved in the accident had been reported stolen earlier that day from a residence in the Beckwith area. The vehicle sustained damage and was towed from the scene.
The Oak Hill Police Department is investigating the accident.
The woman was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Due to concerns about her mental health and welfare, deputies contacted the Fayette County Mental Hygiene Commissioner and obtained a mental hygiene warrant.
Deputies also conducted a welfare check at the woman’s residence, where family members expressed concerns about her recent behavior.
The woman, identified as Tiffany L. Turpin, is facing pending charges of grand larceny involving a vehicle and indecent exposure.
According to McMullen, warrants for the charges are expected to be obtained Thursday, October 22.
All charges are allegations, and Turpin is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
