CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One woman has been arrested after getting aggressive and making her stepsister fear for her life following a verbal argument, and then spitting in the responding officer’s face.
A criminal complaint states that according to the information provided by the victim, she advised police that her stepsister, the defendant, 43-year-old Tara Lea Diveley, was in a verbal argument and Tara was having a mental episode putting herself and her mother in fear for their lives.
At one point, Tara aggressively came at the victim getting approximately 12 inches from the victim’s face. Tara had her hands curled up in an aggressive manner facing the victim, placing her in fear for her life, according to the complaint.
After officers arrived on the scene, Tara was still raising her voice and pacing back and forth near the front of the house. When police exited their patrol vehicle, she went back to the left side of the house to avoid law enforcement.
Police asked Tara two times to walk to the patrol vehicle and she tensed her body up trying to turn. She was then placed into handcuffs after a short struggle. She was then placed in the patrol vehicle where she became irate and began spitting and not wanting to place her feet inside.
The complaint further stated the police told Tara multiple times to stop spitting, and she then spit in the officer’s face.
When Tara was placed under arrest, she had a small bag with her. Inside the bag was a clear pipe used for smoking methamphetamine. Also located in her bag was a cigarette container with a clear bag containing a white crystal substance.
In the bottom of the bag, police located another clear bag containing a white powdery substance. Both field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Tara Lea Diveley has been charged with Obstructing an Officer, Prohibited Acts, Domestic Assault, and Battery on a Governmental Representative.
She is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $750 bond.
