OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A woman was arrested early Tuesday morning following a domestic dispute in the Minden area of Fayette County.
According to authorities, deputies responded around 3:34 a.m. on March 3, 2026, to a threatening complaint at a home on Lynch Harper Road.
When officers arrived, they found the complainant, identified as Raymond Backus, sitting on a couch inside the residence. Because Backus was unable to walk, officers asked another person in the home, Wanda Fields, to come to the door so they could speak with him.
Backus told deputies that Fields had threatened him, saying she had someone who would kill him. Officers also noted that law enforcement had previously responded to the residence after Backus reported that Fields had thrown objects at him.
Due to the ongoing nature of the situation and Backus stating he wanted to press charges, deputies placed Fields under arrest for domestic assault.
Fields was transported to Plateau Medical Center for medical clearance before being taken to Southern Regional Jail, where she will await arraignment.
The incident occurred within the city limits of Oak Hill in Fayette County.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
