GAULEY BRIDGE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute in Gauley Bridge led to the arrest of a woman after she allegedly bit and scratched her boyfriend during an argument.
At approximately 7:43 PM, Patrolman M. Wriston of the Gauley Bridge Police Department, along with Fayette County Deputy Sheriff T. Farley, responded to a domestic incident on Jackson Street.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the male victim, who stated that an argument broke out after his girlfriend, Casey Velez, became upset over a video featuring women in bikinis. As he attempted to pack his belongings, Velez allegedly bit his right hand and scratched his neck. Officers observed visible injuries consistent with his account.
Following an investigation, officers determined that Velez unlawfully made physical contact in an insulting or provoking manner, leading to her arrest for domestic battery (first offense).
Velez was taken into custody, processed in Gauley Bridge, and later transported to the Southern Regional Jail.
