WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A disturbance call on the night of Saturday, May 3, 2025, led to the arrest of a woman suspected of shoplifting and resisting arrest in Corrine, Wyoming County.
At around 9:59 p.m., Deputy M.T. Perry and Corporal Ellison responded to a report from a local resident who told 911 dispatchers that she returned home to find Tiffany Ellis and another individual in her yard. The complainant suspected the two may have broken into her home and believed both appeared to be under the influence.
The resident offered Ellis and the man a ride to the Mullens Family Dollar, planning to return and meet deputies at her home.
Deputies arrived just before the resident returned and observed Ellis sitting in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Upon exiting the car, Ellis appeared visibly nervous, slurred her speech, and was seen shoving unknown items into her pants.
Despite multiple commands to stop, Ellis refused to comply and resisted attempts to detain her. She was eventually secured and placed in Deputy Perry’s cruiser.
The resident later reported that Ellis had taken items from Family Dollar but then returned and paid for them.
Ellis was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. While being booked, she continued to speak incoherently, though the process concluded without further incident.
