RONCEVERTE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Greenbrier County woman was arrested late Monday night following a domestic dispute that allegedly involved a rifle and ended with weapons being thrown into a river.
Deputies with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded around 11:10 p.m. on March 2, 2026, to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on Fort Springs Pike in Ronceverte.
According to authorities, the caller, Francis Glasser, reported that his wife, April Glasser, had become physical during an argument and was armed with weapons while intoxicated. Dispatchers later advised deputies that Francis had left the residence and was walking down the road while April followed behind him.
When deputies arrived, Francis was located roughly 200 yards from the home, while April had returned to the residence.
Deputies then made contact with April, who exited the home holding a bottle of Blood Orange Ginger Beer, and she was detained while officers gathered statements.
Francis told deputies the argument began in the kitchen over their dogs not eating food April had prepared for them. According to his statement, the dispute escalated when April began throwing objects at him, including a bowl of seashells. He said she then grabbed onto him and headbutted him during the altercation.
Francis told deputies the situation intensified when April allegedly went into their bedroom, retrieved an AR-15 rifle, and pointed it at him. He said he left the house and began walking down the road while she followed him carrying the rifle.
He also reported that she asked him if he had removed the bullets from the weapon before he heard what sounded like the firearm being thrown across the roadway.
When deputies later spoke with April, she admitted the argument began after she told Francis she had been involved with one of his friends. She also told officers she had thrown both the AR-15 rifle and a 9mm pistol into a nearby river.
Deputies searched the area and were able to recover the AR-15 from the river, but the pistol was not located.
April was later taken to the sheriff’s office where she was read her Miranda rights and interviewed. She told investigators the argument started in the kitchen and escalated into a physical confrontation. She admitted retrieving the firearms from the bedroom in an attempt to scare Francis so he would leave the residence.
April also told deputies she had consumed approximately four shots of whiskey and had been drinking due to personal issues involving her children.
Following the investigation, April Glasser was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Wanton Endangerment involving a firearm.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
