PRATT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One woman has been arrested after running over a man following an argument with her boyfriend.
According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, an officer with the Pratt Police Department responded to Campbell Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a car.
Upon arrival, the officer found a pedestrian who had been struck by a car. The victim stated that the vehicle was being driven by 40-year-old Annie Rhodes of East Bank.
An officer with the East Bank Police Department then advised that he had the car stopped at Crown Hill.
The victim stated that Rhodes and her boyfriend were fighting and that Rhodes’ boyfriend hit her car with a bat.
Rhodes then backed up in her car striking the victim running over his legs and fled the scene toward East Bank.
EMS stayed on the scene while Pratt Police went to where the car was.
Immediately upon arrival, the officer noticed Rhodes’ windshield had been beaten out.
When questioned by police, Rhodes stated she had been at her boyfriend’s house in Pratt arguing.
Police then instructed Rhodes to exit the car to do a field sobriety test. Rhodes could not pass the test and had the odor and breath of alcohol, according to the complaint.
The complaint alleges that Rhodes acted more like a person on some type of drug other than alcohol.
She could not complete the walk-and-turn test either stating, “I couldn’t do this sober, let alone when I am buzzing like now.”
Police then attempted to arrest Rhodes for DUI, but it took four officers to wrestle her into handcuffs.
Police recovered meth from Rhodes once arriving at the jail.
Rhodes was charged with Obstructing an Officer and DUI Causing Serious Bodily Injury. She is currently out on bond.
