ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman faces charges after using a paintball gun as a means of denying a man entry to his own residence Wednesday.
According to reports from Deputy Pingley of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 911 dispatched a drug complaint in the Pritt Hollow Road area of Randolph County.
Speaking with the caller over the phone, Deputy Pingley was advised that a family member of the caller’s, Kendra Bender, was inside his residence with people he wished to be removed.
The caller further advised that Bender would not let him inside the residence, and that there were drugs in plain view inside.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Pingley was advised multiple times by the caller that Bender had shot at him with a paintball gun.
Orange paint splatter consistent with a paintball was visible on the driver side door of the caller’s vehicle.
Deputy Pingley along with Deputy Elbon knocked on the door of the residence with tasers drawn and Kendra Bender answered.
Bender was detained and the paintball gun was recovered. Bender had visible orange paint on her hands and admitted to firing the paintball gun at the victim, stating that she was attempting to scare him away.
A small, clear plastic bag as located in Bender’s right jeans pocket, and was found to contain a white, crystal-like substance which Bender admitted was methamphetamine.
The substance was confiscated, and it was determined that the caller was within his legal right to be inside the residence.
Bender was placed under arrest and transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail. She faces charges of Domestic Assault and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Another individual present inside the residence, Caleb Goodwin, was found to have had an active warrant out of Barbour County on a Petit Larceny charge.
Goodwin was also arrested and transported to Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
