BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman has been arrested after stealing an individual’s bank account information from debit cards and taking over $2,500.
According to a criminal complaint, between January 26 and March 7, 37-year-old Amanda Workman of Chapmanville fraudulently obtained funds from the victim’s bank account totaling over $2,500.
The suspect and her boyfriend then drove to the victim’s residence, entered the residence, and obtained the victim’s bank information from the victim’s debit cards which were located in the victim’s purse.
After obtaining the bank information, the defendant along with her boyfriend used a Cash App account with the victim’s unauthorized account information to fraudulently obtain money.
There were approximately 57 different withdrawals totaling $2,522 from the victim’s bank account. The victim told police that this was not the first time they have did this.
Amanda Workman was arrested and charged with Fraud Related Activity in Connection with Access Device, Unauthorized Use Transfer, Acquisition or Possession of Certain Benefits, and Grand Larceny.
She is currently at South West Regional Jail on a $500 bond.
