BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A disturbance at an auto parts store in Beckley led to an arrest after a woman allegedly harassed a family and threatened a police officer.
According to authorities, an officer responded on December 18, 2025, to Advance Auto Parts at 4006 Robert C. Byrd Drive following a harassment complaint. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a man who reported that a woman approached his vehicle while his grandchildren were inside, began banging on the window, and verbally harassed both him and the children.
The woman then reportedly walked to a nearby U-Haul parking lot and began smoking a cigarette. The officer located the woman, identified as Tommi Tate, and questioned her about the incident. Police said Tate denied yelling but made several unintelligible statements.
When the officer advised her to avoid bothering others for the remainder of the day, Tate allegedly escalated the situation by threatening to “blow [the officer’s] brains out.” When asked how she would carry out the threat, she reportedly responded that the officer would “see how she would do it.”
Tate was immediately taken into custody and arrested on charges related to making threats. She was transported to the Beckley Police Department for processing.
The incident occurred within the City of Beckley in Raleigh County, West Virginia.
