MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – At approximately 12:00 AM on March 17, Monongalia County Deputies were dispatched by MECCA 9-1-1 to the Chestnut Ridge Road area following reports of a stabbing.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, identified as Marvin Strahin (46) of Reedsville, suffering from a laceration to the head.
Preliminary reports suggest the injury was sustained during an altercation with Josh Weigner (49) of Westover. Deputies from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Morgantown Police Department, encountered Mr. Weigner at the scene. The suspect fled on foot and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. Weigner has been charged with Attempted Robbery and Malicious Assault. Weigner is currently held at the Monongalia County holding facility, awaiting arraignment.
Strahin was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further details are available for release at this time.
