CLEAR FORK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman faces charges in relation to an incident in which multiple altercations took place regarding a property dispute on Monday.
Reports from Deputy Jacob Stafford indicate that on Monday, November 21, 2022 at approximately 6:52 pm, Stafford was dispatched on a Domestic Disturbance call in the Clear Fork area of Wyoming County.
Prior to his arrival at the scene Deputy Stafford was advised by the Wyoming County 911 that shots had reportedly been fired and that someone had been stabbed.
Arriving at the residence, Stafford was met by a woman identified as Ashley Smith who advised that her boyfriend had been stabbed, at which point emergency medical services were contacted.
After speaking with the stabbing victim and ensuring that EMS was en route, Deputy Stafford left to gather further information regarding the incident.
A female advised that Smith had attacked her after she had attempted to call 911 regarding gunfire she had heard.
The female and a male at the residence advised that prior to the stabbing, the stabbing victim had forced his way into the residence and started an altercation with the male.
It was at this point the male retrieved his pocketknife from his pocket and stabbed the man until he ceased the attack and left the residence.
The female advised that when she returned to the residence, Mrs. Smith had been on the porch yelling and attempting to gain entry into the building. It was also advised that Mrs. Smith pushed the female down the steps when she was attempting to scale the stairs.
The official report indicates that these instances occurred as a result of an ongoing property dispute between the two parties.
The stabbing was concluded to have been enacted in self-defense. The victim was transported to the hospital to received medical treatment and Mrs. Smith was arrested and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
Ashley Smith faces charges of Domestic Battery in relation to this investigation.
