LYNCO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County woman has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured an ATV operator in the Lynco area.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a reported ATV crash on May 29, 2025.
Upon arrival, Deputy Hunter Walker determined the crash involved a hit-and-run, where the striking vehicle had left the scene.
A black Mitsubishi Outlander with significant front-end damage was later located abandoned on a nearby street. The vehicle was registered to Kayla Rodgers of Wyoming County.
Investigators identified Rodgers as the driver and learned that she failed to stop, render aid, or provide information following the crash.
Additionally, Rodgers allegedly made a false emergency call to the sheriff’s office claiming her vehicle had been stolen before the crash—an allegation later disproved by deputies.
After several days of investigation, warrants were filed for Rodgers on the following charges:
- Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Serious Bodily Injury
- No Insurance
- Failure to Render Aid
- Obstructing
- Filing of a False Emergency Report
Rodgers was taken into custody on June 5 and transported to the Southern Regional Jail.
The ATV operator involved in the crash sustained serious injuries but is currently in stable condition and recovering.
The investigation was led by Deputy Hunter Walker with assistance from Sergeant Tyler Sizemore.
