Deputies had located a woman walking alone on the interstate who reported being attacked by her partner at a home on Wildwood Avenue.
When officers arrived at the residence, they spoke with 44-year-old Ryan Feury, who acknowledged there had been an argument and said the woman had been drinking heavily.
He denied that the altercation had turned physical.
However, police noted visible injuries on Feury, including a fresh scratch on his arm, bruises on his hand, and blood on his pants.
Feury was arrested at the scene and taken to the Lewisburg Police Department for processing before being transported to the Southern Regional Jail.
Meanwhile, officers interviewed the woman at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. She confirmed there had been a physical altercation, stating she had been struck with a closed fist, kicked, bitten, and strangled.
Officers documented visible injuries including facial swelling, bruising, scratches, and a bite mark.
She told police that at one point during the assault, Feury sat on top of her and strangled her to the point she could not breathe, began to lose consciousness, and urinated on herself.
Feury has been charged with strangulation and domestic battery. He is currently at Southern Regional Jail on an $8,000 bond.
