WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman faces charges after threatening a woman with a gun and refusing police commands.
WV State Troopers say a female victim dropped off her son at a residence when the neighbor, Betty Jackson, threatened to shoot her. The victim said she could see Betty had a long gun pointed at her, which she left and called 911.
When troopers went to speak to Betty, she was sitting in an SUV. They asked Betty to show her hands. They observed a .22 rifle in her lap, but she refused to obey commands. Troopers then went to grab the gun, but Betty grabbed it to prevent them from getting it. A second gun, a revolver, was in the front seat. After a brief scuffle, troopers were able to place Betty in custody.
Betty Jackson is charged with assaulting an officer and obstructing an officer. She is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 2,500 dollar bond.
