JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Ripley woman was arrested after causing a disturbance at Jackson General Emergency Room.
At approximately 4:23 a.m., Corporal Kevin Luquez and Patrolman Zach Baker of the Ripley Police Department responded to a report of an intoxicated female behaving inappropriately in Room 5 of the ER.
Upon arrival, officers identified the woman as Ms. Deborah Workman, who had been involved in multiple incidents earlier in the night. Hospital staff reported that Ms. Workman was engaging in lewd behavior, including spitting on the floor and licking it, as well as exposing herself and acting erratically. Despite multiple warnings from officers, she continued her actions, leading to her being restrained in handcuffs.
As officers escorted her out of the hospital, Ms. Workman kicked Cpl. Luquez in the shin. Authorities later confirmed that Jackson County Deputy Michael Abel had previously ordered her to stay inside her residence, but she had ignored the directive, allegedly knocking on a neighbor’s door and assaulting them with a golf club.
With no sober individuals willing to take responsibility for Ms. Workman, officers transported her to South Central Regional Jail. She later refused to provide fingerprints upon arrival at the facility.
No further details were immediately available. The case remains under investigation.
