JACKSON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Ravenswood woman is facing charges of property destruction following an incident at an apartment on Flinn Street.
According to the criminal complaint, the defendant, Rachel Lee Parsons, allegedly went to 402 Flinn Street, Apartment A, a property rented by Andrea Sutler and owned by Brian Gould. While at the property, Parsons reportedly broke a back kitchen window by striking it with her hand and attempted to kick in the door.
The defendant attempted entry by shoving in a window air conditioner, which hit a couch and knocked a three-year-old child on the floor.
A witness informed law enforcement that she observed Parsons outside the residence and heard her yelling through the door. The person, who is familiar with Parsons, provided an audio-recorded statement to Ravenswood Police Officer Morehead, who also photographed the damage to the property.
Officer Morehead later interviewed Parsons at another unit in the same complex, Apartment 16. After being read her Miranda rights, Parsons denied being injured by the broken glass and claimed she was attempting to protect an individual named Tyler Stutler, whom she believed was being assaulted in the kitchen of the apartment. However, law enforcement confirmed that Stutler was incarcerated at the time of the incident, contradicting Parsons’ account.
Officer Morehead has requested a warrant for Parsons on charges of destruction of property, citing damage to the back door and glass window, with an estimated value under $500. The investigation remains ongoing.
